Frequently Asked Questions

Considering a metal fabrication project? Below are answers to the questions we hear most often from Gold Coast clients. From material selection and pricing to timeframes and warranties, we've covered the essentials to help you make an informed decision. If you have a question that's not listed here, don't hesitate to reach out, we're here to help.

What types of metal fabrication do you do?

We offer comprehensive metal fabrication services including commercial kitchen fabrication, custom stainless steel work, sheet metal fabrication, aluminium fabrication, welding services, and professional installation and maintenance. Whether you need commercial, industrial, or residential metalwork, we handle projects of all sizes across the Gold Coast.

How much does custom metal fabrication cost?

Costs vary depending on materials, design complexity, size, and finishing requirements. Contact us with your project details and we'll provide a free, transparent quote with no hidden costs.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes, we provide free, no-obligation quotes for all projects. Most quotes are provided within 3-5 business days after discussing your requirements.

What is the difference between stainless steel grades?

Grade 304 is ideal for most indoor applications and general use, while Grade 316 contains added molybdenum for superior corrosion resistance in coastal and marine environments. For Gold Coast properties near the coast, we typically recommend 316 for outdoor installations.

Can you fabricate from my design or drawings?

Absolutely. We work from architectural drawings, CAD files, sketches, or even just your ideas, and we're happy to collaborate with your architect or designer to bring your vision to life.

Do you offer mobile or on-site welding services?

Yes, we provide mobile welding services throughout the Gold Coast for repairs, modifications, and installations that can't be brought to our workshop. Our welders arrive fully equipped with professional equipment to complete your job on-site.

How long does a typical fabrication project take?

Simple projects typically take 1-2 weeks, standard projects 2-4 weeks, and complex fabrications 4-8 weeks depending on design complexity and current workload. We'll provide a realistic timeline specific to your project during the quote process.

Do you work on residential projects or just commercial?

We work on both residential and commercial projects. No job is too big or too small for our team.

What areas of the Gold Coast do you service?

We service the entire Gold Coast from our Burleigh Heads workshop, including all suburbs from Coolangatta to Coomera, plus Northern NSW and throughout Southeast Queensland. Being locally based means quick response times and easy site access for quotes and installations.

Can you match existing metalwork or do repairs?

Yes, we regularly match existing metalwork and provide repair services including welding repairs, refinishing, and replacing damaged sections. Bring us photos or measurements and we'll assess how we can help.

Do you provide warranties on your work?

Yes, we provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on fabrication, welding, and installation, plus material warranties vary by product and grade.

What's the best material for outdoor/coastal applications?

For Gold Coast coastal areas, we recommend marine-grade 316 stainless steel for superior salt air and corrosion resistance, or marine-grade aluminium for a lighter, cost-effective alternative. We'll assess your property's exposure and recommend the best material for long-term durability.

Can you help with council approvals or building compliance?

While we don't submit council applications, we provide all necessary documentation including shop drawings, engineering specs, and compliance certificates that your certifier or council requires. Our work complies with all relevant Australian Standards.

Do you do powder coating or finishing in-house?

We provide in-house polishing for stainless steel and work with trusted local specialists for powder coating, anodizing, and other finishes. All finishing is coordinated by us for quality control and delivered complete.
